As I As I dip my toes into the start of my 2022 season, it has me thinking about how I want to approach creativity this year… I don’t want to create quick, easy-to-digest pieces of “content” with a 24 hour shelf life for the internet to hungrily devour and forget about. I want to be a dream-weaver, making works of art with time and complexity. Visions that grab you by the heart and and transport you. Art that makes you long for a place you’ve never been— that makes you question— that makes you FEEL— that tells a story and makes you remember what it was like to be a child again where everything was magic and anything was possible.
In an age where artists are reduced to the amount of work they can pop out in the shortest amount of time, I’m making a vow this year to give myself TIME. To give myself SPACE to let new visions form in the silence. To welcome REST, because rest breeds creativity. And to never call what I make “content” ever again— because it’s so much more that— it’s the little world that lives inside of me come to life.
